What the map says

Four readings, each one computed from the tables below.

Email: the free placement plan drew 16 of the 17 positive email replies

The offer of a free one-page placement plan went to US software marketing leaders. Email 2 of that sequence, which opens "The offer stands", drew 11 of them on its own. The media deck offer to the other audiences drew 1.

Email: the same emails drew no positive replies from Microsoft mailboxes to Microsoft-hosted inboxes

The placement plan emails drew 9 and 7 positive replies from the two pools sending to Google-hosted inboxes, and 0 from Microsoft mailboxes to Microsoft-hosted inboxes. Same copy, so that gap sits with the sending pool, not the line.

LinkedIn: Mitch's profile, with a connection note, led on positive replies

13 positive replies, 7.5 per 100 accepted connections, the highest of the six profile and approach pairs.

Roles: "Head of" titles replied positively most often on both channels

1.6 per 100 reached on email (7 of 431) and 1.4 per 100 on LinkedIn (8 of 573), among seniority groups reached at least 200 times on each channel.

Accounts: who responded

Which audiences and roles wrote back, who asked to talk, and who went quiet. Rates are per 100 people reached.

SPF is a DNS record on each domain that names the servers allowed to send its mail. Without one, receiving servers have less to go on.

Denominators, definitions and sources

  1. [1] People emailed: unique people with at least one email sent across the 9 sending campaigns, from every lead page of each campaign, read Oct 1, 2026 (4,434 leads on those campaigns). A person in two campaigns counts once here and once in each audience row.
  2. [2] LinkedIn: connection requests and acceptances are the LinkedIn platform's lifetime counts for the 6 campaigns (5,731 requests, 985 accepted). The role tables use the 5,678 people whose request went out, from each campaign's audience records.
  3. [3] Wrote back: replies written by a person. Automatic replies, out of office notices, bounces and system mail are removed, including 22 out of office or departure notices on email that a text rule caught after the classifier. Each person counts once per campaign, on their first reply. Replies are counted to Sept 30, 2026; every one answered outreach sent by Sept 25.
  4. [4] Positive: the reply showed interest, asked for a meeting, referred a colleague, asked for material, or asked about scope or cost, classified from the reply text by rule first and a model where the rule was unsure. Then two text rules: 4 email replies that were out of office or departure notices are not counted, and 3 LinkedIn replies whose only words were a thank you for connecting count as wrote back, not positive. 17 on email, 47 on LinkedIn. Asked to talk is the part that asked for or agreed to a meeting. The LinkedIn totals include 24 replies, 14 of them positive, from people who were not on any of the six campaign lists, such as replies to a personal note from your profile; the named tables mark them No under On a campaign list, and the campaign tables leave them out.
  5. [5] Named accounts: company names on your list and on each lead are matched after lowercasing, dropping punctuation and words such as Inc, LLC and Technologies. A company spelled differently on the two sides will not match, so these counts can read low, never high. The tab marked DO NOT USE is left out.
  6. [6] Roles: the title (email) or profile headline (LinkedIn) is read up to its first separator and placed in the first matching group, in the order the table lists them. Seniority works the same way; many LinkedIn headlines carry no seniority word, hence the large Other row. LinkedIn reached counts people whose request went out (5,678); 24 LinkedIn replies came from people outside the campaign audiences and count in the channel totals only.
  7. [7] Named lists show company and title only, never a person's name. Anyone who asked to stop is never listed.
  8. [8] Went quiet: a positive reply where the last message in the thread is from your side, so the next move is a fresh touch.
  9. [9] Email steps: Sent is the platform's lifetime send count for each step. Subject A and B are the two subject lines tested on the first email; later emails reply in the same thread. 0 email replies could not be placed on a step and count in the audience rows only.
  10. [10] Pools: Reached is people with at least one email from that campaign. Bounces per 100 is the campaign's lifetime bounces over its emails sent.
